Job Summary
Lead day-to-day planning and execution of client account work in a public relations/communications agency setting. Develop and deliver novel, high-impact counsel and materials (press releases, award entries, bios) with guidance from more senior team members. Drive media relations, social media, and events programs, and pitch higher-profile outlets while cultivating relationships with local and national business and trade media. Provide guidance to junior staff and interns, coordinate daily/tactical client work, and proactively source new ideas for account teams. Contribute to client relationships, status updates for senior management, and crisis/issues management materials when needed. Support agency leadership in new business development and proposal development. Demonstrate proficiency with AI tools for efficiency and quality, identify AI-enabled efficiencies, and ensure strategy alignment with client objectives. While maintaining a strong foundation in traditional PR tactics, actively mentor junior staff, participate in employee reviews, and help identify quality candidates for employment. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 4+ years of public relations or communications agency experience, a proven track record in media relations campaigns, and the ability to manage multiple accounts concurrently.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- 4+ years of public relations or communications agency experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience executing media relations campaigns across multiple sectors
- Ability to multi-task and manage multiple accounts
- Mentoring or guidance to junior staff
- Experience with client relationship management and new business development
- Ability to use AI tools for efficiency and quality following policy guidelines
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field plus 4+ years of PR/communications agency experience is preferred
