Job Summary
Oversee the development and execution of strategic public relations initiatives across a portfolio of professional services clients, including law and financial services firms. Set day-to-day objectives for account teams, manage proactive and reactive media relations activities, and articulate strategic communications such as strategy plans and client emails. Serve as the primary client contact for daily calls and meetings, while facilitating new business pitches and attending strategy discussions. Manage team performance by ensuring quality work, deadline adherence, and metric exceedance, providing onboarding, training, and ongoing coaching to junior professionals. Lead multiple projects simultaneously with general direction from the account lead, demonstrating strong analytical and project management skills to address client needs and competitive landscapes.
Required Qualifications
- An experienced media relations practitioner ready to step into account leadership
- Applying an advanced understanding of the media relations toolkit
- Subject matter expertise
- Managerial acumen
- A minimum of five years of PR and communications experience
- Required exposure to professional services and B2B clients
- A track record of public relations work that has generated measurable results
- Highly curious, creative, and results-driven
- Superior critical thinking, communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
- A proven track record of successfully implementing a variety of creative and effective public relations initiatives that have generated measurable results for clients
- Demonstrated the ability to manage a team and lead multiple projects simultaneously
- Making sound judgments on a daily basis
- Knowing when to seek senior counsel
- A strong understanding of how law firms and professional services organizations can effectively communicate to their audiences
- Demonstrated strength as a writer
- Knowledge of AP style
- The ability to proof, edit and coach others' writing abilities
