Job Summary
The Account Specialist role promotes AbbVie products to community practices and health systems, develops and maintains relationships with accounts/departments (e.g., neurology, pain medicine, primary care, pharmacy), and delivers education and clinical/injection training for residents, fellows, and hospital personnel. Responsibilities include identifying customer needs (training, clinical, operational, reimbursement) and addressing them with AbbVie resources; delivering anatomical/procedural information and training; leveraging sales and data resources to drive productivity and product growth; collaborating with other Account Specialists to train residents/fellows within hospital/health system accounts. Required qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in a health/science/business-related field or equivalent experience, travel and credentialing requirements (HCIR) to gain facility access, and the ability to lift 25–100 lb training models. The role emphasizes credentialing compliance, steering trainings, and meeting sales goals across community/private practices and hospitals/health systems.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field preferred or relevant and equivalent industry experience required
- Experience with Buy & Bill and/or Specialty Pharmacy products is preferred
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to travel adequately to cover territory, as well as overnight attendance at scheduled training events and sales meetings
- Documented history of strong sales performance, preferably in a clinical/technical/consultative sales role with multiple decision makers
- HCIR credentialing requirements may include background checks, immunization/vaccinationproof, fingerprinting and specific licenses required by individual state/cities
- Ability to lift/pull 25–100 lb. training models
