Job Summary
Negotiate payment arrangements with borrowers delinquent 90+ days, offering alternative payment methods and strategies to help them retain their vehicles. Utilize skip tracing tools to locate delinquent borrowers and accurately document all collection activities and account information using loan servicing software. Ensure compliance with company policies and the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act while interacting with customers in a professional, tactful, and sensitive manner. Work independently within a fast-paced environment, available for flexible scheduling and overtime as needed.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ year(s) of experience in the collections field
- preferably in the subprime consumer lending industry
- Effective communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to read, interpret and apply federal, state, and local collections regulations
- Ability to interact with customers in a professional, tactful, and sensitive manner
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Available to work a flexible work schedule
- Available to work overtime as needed
- High School Diploma or GED
