Job Summary
Conduct collection work functions including early, late, bankruptcy, recovery, workout, repossession, and foreclosure tasks for delinquent member accounts across credit cards, lines of credit, secured loans, signature loans, real estate loans, and home equity lines of credit. Follow up on delinquent accounts via telephone, personal contact, and correspondence to secure satisfactory resolutions, discuss financial arrangements, and suggest counseling. Perform skip tracing, analyze delinquency reasons, and make recommendations for actions while maintaining regulatory compliance knowledge. Document all collection actions, research accounts for potential errors, and communicate with team members using Teams and Connections platforms. Maintain professional business relations with members as advocates, ensuring confidentiality and accurate reporting to support organizational goals.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Knowledge of collection procedures and related laws and regulations and policies
- Familiar with default and enforcement clauses
- Basic understanding of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code and workout program
- Previous collection experience with full-service financial institution
- Excellent communication, telephone, and public relations skills
- Ability to work well independently
- Ability to work well in stressful situations
- Ability to operate related computer applications and other business equipment including calculator, typewriter, copy machine, printer, credit bureau terminal, telephone, fax
