Job Summary
Account Manager Sr - Public Sector in NY responsible for developing sales in designated government/education/enterprise segments within a geographic territory. Key duties include identifying new opportunities via cold calling, premise visits, networking, lead generation, proposal submissions, and customer appointments; maintaining revenue growth and achieving defined targets; building and managing a broad network of account contacts; post-win management of relationships for retained revenue and additional opportunities; building and executing strategic account plans to maximize revenue; maintaining knowledge of technologies and product solutions; and using Salesforce.com to forecast opportunities and meet sales quotas.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of sales experience
- Proven experience in technology solution selling - Network, UCaaS, Security, Colocation is ideal
- Proven success in hunting, prospecting, and new account development
- Experience with CRM - Salesforce preferred
- Demonstrated strong communication, written, and formal presentation skills
- Self-motivated, pro-active, results-oriented professional with the ability to work with minimum direction
- Operates with a sense of urgency and is customer centric
- Proficient in MS Office products: Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Attention to detail with good organizational capabilities
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and have good time management skills
- Requires at least 25% or more of time conducting sales activities outside of the office
