Job Summary
Take ownership of the San Diego territory to build strong customer relationships, manage pricing to achieve financial targets, and drive market penetration while meeting sales forecasts. Independently make decisions, monitor competitor activity, and maintain detailed activity logging in Salesforce for pipeline visibility. Provide consultative support on inventory planning, deliver updates on supply and price trends, and leverage Teams and Zoom for virtual demos and sales presentations. Represent Genesee Scientific professionally during all interactions, with up to 25% travel by car and occasional air travel for trade shows. Requires a Bachelor's degree in science, 3+ years in sales or lab experience, and proficiency in Microsoft Office and Salesforce.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant science field
- 3+ years sales or research laboratory industry, or lab experience
- Strong verbal and written communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Proven ability to effectively deliver sales and marketing information that influences customer decision-making
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Comfort conducting virtual sales presentations and product demonstrations via video conferencing platforms (Zoom, Teams)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Working knowledge of Salesforce or similar CRM tools for data management and reporting
- Results orientated, strong work ethic and an ability to excel within a rapidly changing and growing organization
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and effectively manage multiple priorities
- Occasional lifting of promotional materials and product displays (up to 25 lbs.)
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during customer visits, trade shows, and tabletop events
- Travel up to 25% within the territory, primarily by car, with occasional overnight travel
- Air travel required for regional and national trade shows, customer visits outside driving distance, and company meetings
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future employer sponsorship
- Successful completion of a background check
