Job Summary
Account Manager owning a defined book of independent accounts end-to-end, including proactive outbound engagement to build relationships and secure new menu/shelf placements, full order-cycle ownership, substitutions/credits/returns coordination, and aggressive CRM maintenance. Responsibilities include multi-touch outbound outreach, new item form (NIF) submission follow-through, distributor engagement, and growth targeting within the regional and independent segment. The role emphasizes high-touch service, relationship-building, proactive account management, and a strong commercial focus to drive account growth and meet SLAs, with 3+ days/week in-office in NYC. Competencies center on ownership mindset, organized reliability, and a commercially-driven, collaborative approach.
Required Qualifications
- 1–3 years of experience in specialty food, CPG, or food & beverage sales
- Demonstrated experience managing independent retail, foodservice, or wholesale accounts
- Strong relationship-building skills with a proactive, solutions-oriented approach
- Ability to manage a high volume of accounts and tasks with discipline and attention to detail
- Comfort with CRM systems, order management, and day-to-day account administration
- Based in or able to commute to New York City; minimum 3 days per week in-office required
