Job Summary
Prospect and develop new business opportunities within an assigned territory by conducting cold calling, door-to-door prospecting, and job-site visits. Identify and engage decision-makers in construction, earthmoving, agriculture, and industrial sectors to evaluate equipment needs and recommend solutions. Manage complex sales cycles from initial qualification through closing and delivery while maintaining accurate CRM records and forecasts. Build a consistent pipeline using market intelligence and strategic territory plans to maximize market penetration. Partner with internal sales, service, and operations teams to ensure an exceptional customer experience.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of successful outside B2B sales experience with a strong emphasis on prospecting and new account acquisition
- Demonstrated success managing long sales cycles and high-value transactions
- Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and closing skills
- Self-motivated with excellent territory management and organizational abilities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM systems
- Valid driver's license with the ability to travel throughout an assigned territory
- Comfortable spending 70–80% of their time in the field
- Persistent and disciplined in prospecting activities
- Skilled at building relationships with contractors, business owners, and operational leaders
- Motivated by performance, competition, and uncapped earning potential
- Able to navigate longer sales cycles while maintaining a healthy pipeline of opportunities
Desired Qualifications
- Direct experience selling heavy construction, earthmoving, agricultural, or other capital equipment
- Candidates with closely related industrial or capital equipment sales experience
- Experience in one or more of the following industries: Heavy construction or earthmoving equipment, Agricultural equipment, Material handling equipment, Industrial equipment or industrial distribution, Professional-grade tools and construction products, Other high-value capital equipment sales
- Experience working directly with general contractors, subcontractors, construction companies, or industrial customers
- Familiarity with construction planning tools, market intelligence platforms, or territory planning resources
