Job Summary
Account Manager for a commercial landscape portfolio based in Manassas, VA. The role focuses on relationship management, quality control, and enhancement sales, with responsibilities including maintaining client relationships, conducting site walkthroughs, acting as the main contact for service issues, driving enhancement sales (targeting ~60% sales penetration per property), coordinating seasonal flower and bed designs, ensuring contract renewals, and proposing additional services. The position involves collaboration with Production Managers to meet service standards, estimating maintenance and enhancement work, monitoring gross margins, conducting regular site visits, providing team leadership and coaching, participating in branch meetings, and promoting safety on job sites. Strong emphasis on customer service, communication, leadership, and the ability to grow the book of business by selling new maintenance contracts to current and prospective clients. Valid driver’s license and willingness to work extended hours during snow events are required.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in account management within commercial landscaping
- Strong customer service, relationship-building, and sales abilities
- Understanding of landscape maintenance and enhancement operations
- Ability to estimate jobs and create takeoffs
- Leadership skills, including the ability to mentor and coach teams
- Knowledge of seasonal flowers, plant materials, and basic design concepts
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Valid driver’s license
- Willingness to work extended hours during snow events
