Job Summary
Account Manager for pharma congress and medical meeting/event management responsible for developing and maintaining strategic global client relationships with pharma congress stakeholders while delivering high-quality programs. Focuses on maintaining and growing account business, consulting on strategic congress planning, managing on-site operations and staff, budget integrity, renewals, and cross-functional collaboration. Requires extensive experience with US/international pharmaceutical meetings, Cvent proficiency, strong client communication, and ability to travel 1-2 weeks per month to support large-scale congress events.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ Years domestic and international meeting or event planning experience to include the management & oversight of Pharma congress management experience
- Consult clients on strategic congress planning and management
- Experience in US and international congresses, satellite symposia, and exhibitions
- On-site operation including staff management at large-scale congress events
- Thorough understanding of hotel spend caps, regulatory codes, HCP, EFPIA, and pharma code
- Thorough understanding of regulatory sign off within a healthcare company
- Understand HCP reporting and reimbursements
- Familiar with the lifecycle to drug development and congress strategy alignment
- Familiar with the cadence of pharmaceutical meetings and congresses
- Know the acronyms and terms used in pharmaceutical companies
- Managed high-volume accounts with a combination of long and short lead times
- Budget creation and management
- Cost savings tracking
- On-site staffing management, maintaining standards of service and image
- End of year reporting to include summary of congresses booked, destinations, number of attendees, cost per program by deliverable, cost savings, etc
