Job Summary
Account Manager, Government role focused on maximizing revenue within very large existing government accounts in Buffalo and developing new contacts within accounts, while maintaining a field presence in the Orlando area (4–5 days/week).Responsibilities include understanding customer goals, responding to evolving needs, communicating Grainger's value proposition, and delivering solutions to grow profitable sales. Develop and implement account strategies, conduct regular business reviews, ensure compliance with pricing guidelines, utilize resources and technical support, and analyze the impact of customer-focused activities to increase productivity and sales within the assigned market.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- 3+ years direct outside sales experience
- Government customer and/or Contracts experience ideal
- Knowledge of sales forecasting opportunity management and customer planning
- Technological capabilities and understanding to communicate in today's business environment
- Ability to bring to close an action, project, resolution or sales with customers
- Ability to articulate business drivers, understand financial and total cost of ownership concepts with all levels of the organization
- Ability to use sales process to uncover customer objections/concerns, and determine appropriate solutions
- Process discipline, ability to align planning goals with a pipeline development process to grow market revenue
- Ability to be in the field with customers in the Orlando area four to five days a week.
