Account Manager - Employee Benefits

Job Summary
Manage a portfolio of fully insured employee benefits accounts while serving as the primary point of contact for clients, carriers, and internal teams. Respond to inquiries regarding plans, policies, renewals, and eligibility; maintain accurate records within agency management systems. Coordinate with Claims, Legal, Marketing, and Operations to deliver solutions, assist with marketing and implementation, and prepare materials for client meetings. Stay informed on industry trends and compliance, identify process improvements, and travel periodically for client or carrier meetings. Requires active Life & Health Insurance License, experience managing employee benefits accounts, and EPIC proficiency. Hybrid schedule available in Cedar Rapids or Des Moines, IA.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Experience managing a book of Employee Benefits accounts
- Active Life & Health Insurance License
- Previous customer service or account management experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Desired Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree
- Experience using an agency management system or CRM
- EPIC experience
- Strong knowledge of fully insured employee benefits products and client service best practices
- Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities
- Outstanding interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams
