Account Manager – DOD / Government Freight

Job Summary
Account Manager for DOD and Government freight responsible for leading, managing, and growing existing government freight accounts. Serve as the primary contact for government customers and agency partners, ensure accurate quoting and that awarded freight is executed exactly as quoted, and coordinate with operations to maintain service levels, handle exceptions, and monitor performance. Navigate government freight requirements, processes, and timelines, identify opportunities to expand freight volume within government agencies, and help build structure, processes, and best practices as the government freight team scales. Provide leadership across internal teams supporting government freight and drive growth through collaboration with customers and federal agencies.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience managing DOD or Government freight (required)
- Strong understanding of how government freight differs from standard commercial freight
- Experience working with federal agencies and government contracting environments
- Operationally strong — able to connect pricing, execution, and service outcomes
- Confident communicator with a professional, solutions-oriented approach
- Comfortable working independently in a remote environment
