Job Summary
Identify, support, and close new business opportunities with existing and specifying OEM customers. Find new customers through networking and cold calling within the Midwest territory, conducting customer needs assessments to determine best-fit material solutions. Collaborate with Marketing, Manufacturing, and Technology to align growth strategies, negotiate sales contracts, and maintain key account plans for strategic accounts. Perform monthly rolling sales forecasts and manage opportunities in Salesforce. Travel approximately 50% of the time to support customers and innovation centers.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in scientific, technical or business field
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in a commercial (Sales, Marketing, Business Development or Product Management) role within the polymer industry
- Cross-functional experience in the thermoset polymer industry in both Technical and Commercial roles
- Willingness to travel to meet with customers, innovation centers, HQ buildings. Travel target approximately 50% of work time
- Basic computer and software skills including Microsoft Office (i.e. Excel), Salesforce.com
- Technical expertise with polymers, specifically relating to meeting application performance requirements and material specifications
- Strong communication skills, ability to interact with various levels of customer personnel
- Some prior experience in polymers industry, including markets, applications and customers
- Capability to manage activities across a matrix organization including ability to work with global business partners
- Able to analyze and implement corrective action plans to close business gaps
- Demonstrated proficiency with prioritization and decision making
- Applicants must be at least 18 years old
