Account Manager

Job Summary

Represent customers and contractors in the Marquette/Manistique territory by establishing relationships, resolving concerns, and driving savings acquisition for medium to large accounts. Act as the on-site program representative to design proposals, verify installations, and troubleshoot technical issues while documenting all interactions. Sell technical products and services, train clients on specifications, and prepare sales forecasts based on engineering research. Travel throughout the defined geographic area to manage complex accounts and deliver program updates to staff. Requires 5-8 years of relevant experience and a valid driver's license.

Required Qualifications

  • 5-8 years relevant industry experience
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Valid driver's license
  • Must successfully pass a post-offer, pre-employment drug test
  • Must consent to the company obtaining a motor vehicle report evidencing a satisfactory driving record
  • Must maintain a clean driving record as an ongoing requirement for continued employment
  • Must be authorized to work in the country where the position is located without the need for employer sponsorship or support
  • Must meet all DOT qualification requirements
  • Must comply with all applicable federal, state, and local transportation regulations
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs
  • Must be available for weekend shifts
  • Must be able to travel throughout a defined territory
  • Must be able to work in industrial/commercial locations and customer homes
  • Must be able to perform warehouse work
  • Must be able to drive on behalf of the company
  • Must be able to maintain current accounts and develop new accounts for medium-size kWh goals
  • Must be able to act as a local, on-site program and company representative to customers and contractors
  • Must be able to design and deliver proposals
  • Must be able to document customer and contractor interactions to adhere to program requirements
  • Must be able to troubleshoot technical problems and issues
  • Must be able to provide technical advice, guidance and training on installation, adaptation, configuration or enhancement
  • Must be able to establish and build relationships in local, regional and national markets
  • Must be able to manage and promptly resolve customer concerns
  • Must be able to record, track customer interactions in accordance with corporation's procedures
  • Must be able to verify product installations and that all paperwork received is accurate and complete
  • Must be able to sell technical products/services
  • Must be able to train on technical specifications and program requirements
  • Must be able to communicate program changes
  • Must be able to develop strategies to drive increased savings acquisition
  • Must be able to work with engineering and program to research and analyze current and future technical specifications and requirements
  • Must be able to prepare sales forecasts
  • Must be able to encourage participation in the program and overcome barriers
  • Must be able to provide input and status updates to program staff
