Job Summary
Account Manager role servicing industrial, institutional and commercial markets as a combination internal/external salesperson for Preston Phipps. Responsibilities include maintaining existing customer relationships while building opportunities with end users, contractors, and engineering groups; develop annual project sales forecasts and plans to achieve growth targets; identify customer needs through deep knowledge of applications and processes; sell products by establishing contact and developing relationships with prospective and current clients; maintain relationships by providing support, information, and guidance; assist in proposals and quotes; meet booking targets and manage pipeline; stay current on industry trends to identify product improvements or new offerings. Requires strong technical aptitude, travel to meet clients, and a collaborative, customer-focused approach.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering preferred but not required
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems
- Experience in external sales of technical or industrial products is an asset
- Experience selling turnkey proposals and concepts to management using financial models is an asset
- Travel frequently to meet with clients and at trade shows
