Job Summary
Own the growth, retention, and performance of a portfolio of strategic merchant partners by developing account plans that drive revenue and customer acquisition. Build trusted relationships with stakeholders across merchant organizations, from frontline teams to senior leaders, while negotiating commercial initiatives and partnership opportunities. Identify and execute growth opportunities that strengthen partnerships, delivering face-to-face training, coaching, and ongoing support to ensure merchant confidence and compliance. Conduct regular business reviews to share insights and performance trends, analyzing merchant data to improve sales, customer experience, and product adoption. Execute Best Practice Integration standards to optimize branding and in-store experiences, acting as the voice of the merchant to shape product improvements and commercial strategy. Manage escalations effectively while maintaining strong governance, compliance, and risk management across your portfolio, representing Zip professionally in the field.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in Strategic Account Management, Key Account Management, Field Sales, Business Development or Merchant Growth
- A proven track record of growing customer portfolios and building long term commercial partnerships
- Strong commercial acumen with an understanding of retail, payments, fintech or financial services
- Excellent relationship management, communication, negotiation and presentation skills
- The ability to analyse data and translate insights into practical growth strategies
- Experience working with CRM platforms such as Salesforce
- Strong planning, organisation and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- A willingness to travel regularly and work flexibly to support merchant training and business needs
