Job Summary
Conduct sales outreach via cold calling, prospecting, and networking to generate new business opportunities with commercial customers in hospitality, food & beverage, healthcare, and retail. Visually inspect buildings for pests, harborage points, and entry vectors, then present pest control solutions and preventative maintenance proposals based on assessment findings. Develop territory strategies to exceed sales targets while maintaining complete knowledge of company programs, pricing, and service offerings. Operate a company vehicle to travel up to 100% within assigned territory, safely navigating stairs, ladders, and confined spaces while wearing necessary PPE. Complete daily activities and sales performance tracking using the company CRM.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license from current state of residence
- Must be able to move up to 10 lbs regularly and 11–20 lbs frequently
- Must be able to safely operate a motor vehicle
- Must be comfortable dealing with different pests
- Must be okay with regularly working in confined spaces, narrow aisles, or passageways
- Must be able to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl
- Must be able to go up and down stairs, ladders, scaffolding, ramps, and poles
- Must be able to keep balance on narrow, slippery, or moving surfaces
- Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), like an OSHA-compliant respirator
- Must be able to resolve conflicts and disputes in a non-violent and non-disruptive manner
- Must be able to make financial quotes and commitments on behalf of the company
- Must be able to use, handle, and have access to regulated chemicals
- Must be able to work unsupervised
- Must be able to access customer's records including personal identifiable information and financial records
- Must be able to receive company equipment to perform work
- Must be able to drive a company vehicle as a primary duty
- Must be able to safely operate a vehicle on the public streets
- Must be able to find and eliminate insect and rodent infestations
- Must be able to inspect and identify infestations of all kinds of organisms, insects, birds, and other pests
- Must be able to sell pest control solutions as well as preventative maintenance for Commercial customers
- Must be able to craft territory development strategies that will result in exceeding sales targets
- Must be able to create new business opportunities through cold calling, prospecting, networking, leads, referrals, and cross-selling
- Must be able to visually inspect buildings for pests, pest harborage, pest entries, etc.
- Must be able to build partnerships and collaborate effectively with internal departments
- Must be able to learn and maintain complete knowledge of Rentokil's programs, protocols, pricing policies, and service offerings
- Must be able to complete daily activities and sales performance using the company sales CRM
- Must be able to work independently
- Must be able to travel up to 100% of time within assigned territory(s)
- Must be able to obtain any required industry licenses that will be provided and paid for by the company
- Must be able to comply with all Federal, State, and local laws related to the employment of qualified individuals with disabilities
- Must be able to comply with the Los Angeles County Fair Chance Ordinance for Employers and the California Fair Chance Act
- Must be able to comply with the law regarding lie detector tests in Massachusetts
