Job Summary
Negotiate settlements with debtors and opposing counsel in collection cases while conducting skip tracing investigations to locate debtors and verify financial information. Read, interpret, and apply lease language and relevant collection laws, then communicate professionally with clients and debtors via phone, email, and written correspondence. Document cases and maintain organized records while learning applicable legal concepts and collection procedures. This full-time role requires 40 hours per week from 8:00am to 5:00pm Monday through Friday, with a hybrid/in-office model where new hires complete initial onboarding in-office for six months. Join an established real estate law firm with nearly 50 years of experience providing cost-effective legal services across California.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Demonstrated diplomatic and savvy negotiation skills
- Strong customer service and communication abilities
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a high-volume environment
- Skill and temperament to remain professional and diffuse conflict
- Willingness to learn legal concepts and collection procedures
- Proficiency with standard software (email, word processing, case management systems)
- Full-time position: 40 hours/week
- Hours: 8:00am-5:00pm Monday-Friday
- We offer a hybrid/in-office work model
- New hires will complete the majority of their onboarding and training in-office during their first 6 months of employment
- Following this period, eligible employees may transition to a hybrid schedule, subject to supervisor approval
Desired Qualifications

- Familiarity with skiptracing or investigative work
- Knowledge of California collection laws or real estate principles
