Job Summary
Account Executive in Public Sector for Energy Systems Group, based in Kentucky with 30-50% travel including overnight stays. Responsible for generating new business through consultative sales to utility and public sector clients, translating customer needs into feasible, installable solutions, and developing financial proposals. Activities include prospecting at trade shows and via research, building knowledge of the renewable energy industry, cultivating relationships, presenting solutions to leadership and technical stakeholders, and maintaining account plans to achieve sales objectives and gross margins. Requires ongoing communication with customers and internal teams during installation and post-sale, plus travel to support engagements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field
- Five or more (5+) years' industry experience selling large solutions; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Highly effective and successful sales negotiation and closing techniques
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs
- Ability to compose and write proposals, reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
