Job Summary
Account Executive for Energy Systems Group in the Public Sector Central Region, based in Kentucky with frequent travel (30-50%, including overnight stays). Responsible for generating new business through a consultative sales approach to utility and public sector clients, developing leads, and building relationships to drive new revenue and maintain gross margins. Manages end-to-end engagement from understanding customer needs, coordinating with operations to translate requirements into feasible solutions, to presenting professional proposals and financial options. Maintains ongoing customer contact during installation and post-sale phases, monitors account plans, and analyzes market conditions. Requires a Bachelor's degree, 5+ years in large-solution sales, strong negotiation and closing skills, excellent communication, proficiency with Microsoft Office, and the ability to craft proposals and respond to stakeholder questions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business or related field
- Five or more (5+) years' industry experience selling large solutions; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Highly effective and successful sales negotiation and closing techniques
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs
- Ability to compose and write proposals, reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
