Job Summary
Account Development Specialist (OEM) role responsible for identifying growth opportunities and building relationships with potential and developing customers to support Phoenix Contact’s sales pipeline. The role involves cross-functional collaboration with Channel and Field Application Engineering teams, delivering technical support throughout the sales process, and driving qualification and follow-up on leads. Responsibilities include meeting/exceeding territory quotas for Ohio, Kentucky, and Tennessee, generating leads via cold calls, emails, and networking, preparing proposals and presentations, maintaining CRM records, and delivering product demonstrations and applications notes. The position emphasizes customer-focused development of accounts, utilization of sales tools, and proactive participation in mutual action plan development with distributor locations, with travel as required (air travel and overnight travel up to 50%+).
Required Qualifications
- Four-year degree in technical discipline preferred and/or equivalent experience
- 1 to 3 years minimum sales experience in the electronics or industrial automation & controls marketplace
- Experience working with distribution preferred
- Comfortable making cold calls and sending outreach emails
- Self-motivated with the ability to learn and adapt quickly
- Must be able to travel via airplane
- Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to travel via automobile for up to six hours at a time
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs
- Must be able to travel overnight 50+% or as dictated by assigned territory
- Comply with company dress code guidelines
