Account Consultant, Surgical Eye Care - South, TX (Austin, San Antonio)

Job Summary
Promote AbbVie therapeutic products to meet sales goals in community/private practices and hospitals/health systems across South Texas. Identify customer needs regarding training, clinical, operational, and reimbursement issues, then deliver anatomical and procedural information to residents, fellows, and key hospital personnel. Collaborate with Account Specialists to execute individual, department, or group trainings while ensuring compliance with all company policies, reports, and promotional guidelines. Effectively utilize sales and data resources to implement the U.S. Marketing Plan and manage field assets. This field-based role requires travel throughout the Austin/San Antonio area, adherence to HCIR credentialing requirements, and the ability to lift 25-100lb training models.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field
- Relevant and equivalent industry experience
- High school diploma/GED
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening test
- Ability to meet safe driving requirements
- Ability to lift/pull 25-100lb
- Ability to meet necessary hospital credentialing/vaccination requirements
- Ability to satisfy all applicable health care industry representative (HCIR) credentialing requirements
- Good standing and/or eligibility to obtain HCIR credentials
- Background checks
- Proof of immunization/vaccination for various diseases
- Fingerprinting
- Specific licenses required by individual state or cities
- Ability to travel adequately to cover territory
- Ability to attend overnight training events and sales meetings
- Ability to drive a personal auto or company car or truck
- Ability to operate a powered piece of material handling equipment
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field (preferred)
- Relevant and equivalent industry experience (in lieu of bachelor's degree)
- At least five (5) years of technical experience
- Three (3) or more years of experience within sales
- Documented history of strong sales performance
- Experience in a clinical/technical/consultative sales role
- Experience with multiple decision makers
- Experience with Buy & Bill and/or Specialty Pharmacy products
- Experience in both health systems and private practice
