Job Summary
Promote AbbVie's interventional glaucoma products to meet and exceed sales goals in community/private practices, hospitals, and health systems. Identify customer needs regarding training, clinical, operational, and reimbursement issues, then address them with appropriate AbbVie resources. Deliver expert anatomical and procedural information, including injection paradigms and postures, while providing clinical and injection training to residents, fellows, and key hospital personnel. Collaborate with other Account Specialists to execute individual, department, or group trainings within assigned accounts. Comply with all company policies, required reports, and promotional compliance standards while effectively managing field assets. Utilize sales and data resources to enhance productivity and growth in alignment with the U.S. Marketing Plan.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field
- Relevant and equivalent industry experience
- High school diploma/GED
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening test
- Ability to meet safe driving requirements
- Ability to lift/pull 25-100lb
- Training models
- Meet necessary hospital credentialing/vaccination requirements
- Driving a personal auto or company car or truck, or a powered piece of material handling equipment
- Ability to travel adequately to cover territory
- Overnight attendance at scheduled training events and sales meetings
- Satisfy all applicable health care industry representative (HCIR) credentialing requirements
- Be in good standing and/or eligible to obtain HCIR credentials
- Background checks
- Drug screens
- Proof of immunization/vaccination for various diseases
- Fingerprinting
- Specific licenses required by individual state or cities
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field preferred
- Relevant and equivalent industry experience required in lieu of a bachelor's degree is at least five (5) years of technical experience
- Three (3) or more years of experience within sales
- Documented history of strong sales performance
- Clinical/technical/consultative sales role
- Multiple decision makers
- Experience with Buy & Bill and/or Specialty Pharmacy products
- Health systems
- Private practice
