Job Summary
Part-time School Accompanist provides piano accompaniment for middle school and high school choir programs, assisting rehearsals, concerts, contests, and other vocal music activities. Works with the choir director to support rehearsals and performances, accompanies students and ensembles for concerts and contests, assists with music preparation, and supports Solo/Ensemble activities. Requires strong piano performance and sight-reading skills; experience with choirs or vocal soloists preferred; ability to work with middle and high school students; evening/after-school availability; schedule varies with rehearsals and spring contest season; compensation determined by experience and district guidelines. Reports to Choir Director and Building Principal. Location: Hinton, Iowa (US). Part-time, seasonal, approximately 30 hours per semester; hours subject to change; more hours anticipated during spring contest season.
Required Qualifications
- Strong piano performance and sight-reading skills required
- Experience accompanying choirs and/or vocal soloists preferred
- Ability to work effectively with middle school and high school students
- Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
- Previous school accompanist or music education experience preferred
