Job Summary
Provide piano accompaniment for solo and ensemble classes, concerts, musicals, and clinics while analyzing assigned music for tempos, transitions, and dynamics. Assist the Choral Instructor with clerical tasks such as managing the music library and cataloging resources. Supervise student activities during rehearsals and performances to maintain a positive learning environment. Prepare recorded rehearsal tracks for at-home use and exhibit professional stage etiquette. Requires experience in accompanist, piano playing, and sight reading.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge of basic math, including calculations using fractions, percents, and/or ratios
- Ability to read a variety of manuals
- Ability to write documents following prescribed formats
- Ability to present information to others
- Understanding of complex, multi-step written and oral instructions
- Knowledge of recording technology
- Knowledge of established audition standards
- Knowledge of voice ranges
- Knowledge of key transpositions
- Knowledge of variety of musical styles
- Skill in piano playing
- Skill in sight reading music
- Skill in working with large groups, solo vocal instrumentals and choral singers
- Ability to schedule activities and/or meetings
- Ability to gather and/or collate data
- Ability to use job-related equipment
- Flexibility to work with others in a variety of circumstances
- Ability to work with data utilizing defined and similar processes
- Ability to operate equipment using standardized methods
