Job Summary
Institute improved processes for the intake, evaluation, and pursuit of ranking and accolade opportunities, discerning submissions that best support firmwide brand and business development objectives. Collaborate with communications and marketing teams to assign submissions, manage workflows, and meet deadlines while researching award opportunities, tracking results, and providing analysis to firm leadership. Build relationships with department and practice group leadership to identify recognition opportunities aligned with their strategic objectives and project the compilation of high-level survey responses. Provide information on research processes and best practices to improve education and support for ranking submissions, while serving as a direct supervisor to direct reports, overseeing compliance, staffing coverage, and time logs.
Required Qualifications
- After orientation at Cooley LLP, exhibit proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, iManage and other firm applications, including firm marketing systems software
- Ability to work extended and/or weekend hours, as required
- Ability to travel, as required
- 5+ years related experience (e.g., in awards and rankings, public relations, communications, marketing, or business development, preferably with law firm experience)
- Senior level candidates must have 7+ years' directly applicable exempt work experience, at least 4 of which include management experience in the applicable field, along with the proven ability to operate at an elevated level in terms of scope of responsibility, judgement and autonomy
- Project management skills
- Experience in a law firm or professional services environment, with a working knowledge of professional services sectors
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Marketing, Business or related field
- Direct experience with legal rankings and awards is strongly desired
- Supervisory experience
