Accessioning Technician I (Temp), Evenings

Job Summary
Receives and sorts specimens for testing, reviews requisitions for missing information, and coordinates with Client Services to obtain timely updates. Accurately enters data into the LIS, labels samples, creates folders, generates travel documents, and forwards specimens to appropriate personnel. Assembles case paperwork, files pre-analytic documentation, and performs quality assurance checks on samples. Coordinates shipment to reference laboratories, maintains client communication, and ensures proper chain of custody for slides and blocks. Identifies and reports quality or compliance concerns to take immediate corrective action. Works full-time evenings Tuesday through Saturday from 12:00pm to 8:30pm.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 1+ years of experience equivalent to an Accessioning Technician preferred
- Proficient with MS Office programs
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently
- Must be able to work in a fast paced, multi-tasking environment and maintain production and quality standards
- Must be able to work in a biohazard environment and comply with safety policies and standards outlined in the Safety Manual
Desired Qualifications
- Tuesday-Saturday, 12:00pm-8:30pm schedule
- Temporary-status employment via third-party agency
