Job Summary
Lab Assistant I to support technologists/technicians and pathologists by accessioning specimens, processing workflows, data entry, and providing general administrative support. Responsibilities include verifying specimen type and demographics, forwarding/returning specimens, intake of specimens delivered by couriers, cross-referencing information across computer systems, and printing from cassette printers. Requires adherence to HIPAA standards and PPE; strong attention to detail, time management, and effective communication. Evening/late shift (M-F 6:00 PM–2:30 AM) with potential for other duties as assigned. Preferred associates or bachelor’s degree in biology/chemistry/anatomy and prior clinical laboratory experience; basic computer skills and customer service experience are valued.
