Job Summary
Receive, log, and prepare samples in the warehouse by opening coolers, recording temperatures, and reconciling contents with Analytical Service Requests. Unpack coolers, affix barcodes, and scan samples into the Laboratory Information Management System to obtain order numbers. Repack coolers for customer return, deliver final ASRs for data entry, and transport samples to storage or disposal facilities per Standard Operating Procedures. Check bottles for acidification using pH strips, wash and burn glassware, and follow seasonal instructions for sample handling. Maintain 98% accuracy in all tasks, assist with monthly progress reports, and adhere to facility safety, security, and sustainability protocols. Work Monday through Friday, 8 hours per day, between 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM.
Required Qualifications
- minimum of two (2) years of experience industry experience
- High School diploma
- Associate's degree or similar/advanced degree
- Laboratory, inventory, and/or warehouse operations experience
- Experience in automated systems for inventory control, stock replenishment, order processing
- Knowledge of various packing and shipping methods
- Proficiency in MS Windows, MS Office Suite, Teams, SharePoint, OneNote, etc.
- Proficiency with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) and automated laboratory systems
- Strong data entry skills and high attention to detail
- Excellent customer service skills
- Experience in Wash-lab operations
- Ability to learn and comprehend all required training for all internal tasks for the position
- Able to lift 50 pounds, bend, reach, stoop, walk as well as remain standing for prolonged periods of time
- Must pass a pre-employment physical examination
- Must pass the pre-employment drug test
- Federal security investigation (background check) to obtain a U.S. Department of the Interior (DOI) Public Trust clearance
- U.S. citizen
