Job Summary

Oversee the Trackchair Program by supervising operations, recruiting volunteers, and managing reservation systems while maintaining the Outdoor Exploration and Assistive Resource Library. Advise staff and volunteers on inclusive program design, accommodations, and event logistics, and collaborate with disability organizations and healthcare providers to strengthen outreach. Evaluate programs, facilities, and trails to identify barriers, collect visitor feedback, and document accessibility initiatives using qualitative and quantitative measures. Support the activation of accessible nature-based experiences at the Frick Environmental Center campus. This full-time role requires a weekend schedule, occasional evening work, and outdoor mobility experience.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in a direct-service, community-based, educational, recreational, or similar setting serving diverse populations, including people with disabilities, caregivers, and/or children.
  • Demonstrated ability to build respectful and effective working relationships with participants, colleagues, volunteers, and community partners.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to obtain CPR and First Aid certification within the first 90 days of employment.
  • Ability to work a schedule that includes at least one weekend day (Saturday or Sunday). Occasional evening work may be required.
  • Regular work in outdoor park settings, including uneven terrain, sloped woodland trails, and variable weather conditions.
  • Operation and coordination of adaptive equipment, including Trackchairs and assistive resource library items.
  • May involve moving or preparing equipment weighing up to 25 pounds, with assistance or mechanical aids as needed.
  • Use of standard office equipment and digital systems to manage program information, resources, and documentation.

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, associate degree, coursework, training, or professional development in special education, rehabilitation, disability studies, human services, recreation, assistive technology, or a related field.
  • One or more years of experience in accessibility, inclusive recreation or education, disability services, or a related field. Lived experience may also be considered relevant.
  • Familiarity with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, universal design, or related accessibility frameworks.
  • Experience training, supporting, or advising staff and volunteers.
  • Experience developing partnerships with community organizations, healthcare providers, disability organizations, or advocacy groups.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and experience using databases or recordkeeping systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to work respectfully with people of diverse backgrounds, identities, and lived experiences.
