Job Summary

Manage library operations during assigned evening shifts by supervising student workers and providing directional, informational, and basic reference assistance to users in person, on the phone, and via email. Use the integrated library system (Alma) to check out, check in, and place holds on materials, while troubleshooting minor problems with building technology including computers and scanners. Complete data collection to document workflow as directed and perform other duties and special projects as assigned. Work Monday through Thursday from 4 pm to 12 am, Saturdays from 8:45 am to 8 pm, and Sundays from 11:45 am to 12 am, with potential coverage during inclement weather. Compensation is $15.00/hour.

Required Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled as a student at Loyola University Maryland or Notre Dame of Maryland University
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral, with a focus on commitment to delivering high-quality customer service
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently with little supervision
  • Demonstrated proficiency in use of email systems, Internet web browsers, and desktop office applications including Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to adapt well to changes in policies, procedures, and technology
  • Ability to move and/or lift up to 40 lbs. with or without accommodation
  • Must be available for Monday through Thursday shifts between 4 pm and 12 am
  • Must be available for Saturday shifts between 8:45 am and 8 pm
  • Must be available for Sunday shifts between 11:45 am and 12 am
  • Must be available to work up to 15 hours during the final exam period
  • Must be available to assist with Library operations during inclement weather
  • Must be subject to a pre-employment background check
  • Must be able to provide proof of eligibility to work in the USA
  • No visa sponsorship
