Access Screener -Clinical (Primary SUD)

Job Summary
Conduct eligibility screenings and assessments for mental health, intellectual/developmental disabilities, and substance use services for Oakland County residents. Provide provisional diagnoses, coordinate referrals to ADOS clinicians, and manage second-opinion determinations for ineligible cases. Set intake appointments with provider agencies, link individuals to crisis providers, and adhere to Quality Improvement Indicators and COFR guidelines. Complete all documentation accurately within specified timeframes while maintaining confidentiality and demonstrating trauma-informed principles. This role requires a master's degree in mental health, a valid clinical license, and at least one year of behavioral health experience. Candidates must possess strong communication skills, proficiency with clinical tools like LOCUS and ASAM, and the ability to navigate complex service systems. Hybrid work schedules are available, and bilingual Spanish speakers are desirable.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in a mental health field
- Valid clinical license (LLP, LP, LMSW, LPC, LMFT, LLMSW, LLPC)
- CAADC, CADC, CCS, CPS, CPC-R, CCDP or development plan
- 1 year minimum of Behavioral Health or Substance Use disorder experience
- Must have available means of transportation to and from OCHN and for required offsite meetings or site visits
- Must be available for meetings and events which may occur outside of standard office hours
- The ideal candidate must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
Desired Qualifications
- Bilingual in Spanish
- Knowledge of OCHN provider network, and how to access additional community services
- Knowledge and understanding of admission and discharge criteria for each treatment program and be able to determine and designate appropriate levels of care
- Knowledge of DSM-IV TR and DSM-V criteria
- Knowledge of Michigan Mental Health Code
- Knowledge of Children's SED Waiver requirements
- Knowledge of LOCUS, CAFAS, and ASAM requirements
- Knowledge of substantial functional limitations
