Job Summary
Design and implement Specially Designed Instruction, accommodations, and supports aligned with state standards and student needs. Develop Individual Educational Plans (IEPs) outlining present levels, goals, and required services. Create a positive learning climate for students with disabilities while employing evidence-based teaching techniques. Monitor student performance, assessment data, and grades; manage classroom behavior using positive behavior supports and disciplinary procedures. Communicate regularly with parents and district personnel regarding progress. Provide oversight to paraprofessionals and maintain confidential records, inquiries, and full-time equivalency documentation. Take precautions to ensure student health, safety, and facility security. Attend workshops and trainings to build Exceptional Student Education knowledge and skills.
Required Qualifications
- Florida Professional Educator Certificate in Exceptional Student Education preferred
- Eligibility for Florida Temporary Certificate
- Microsoft Office
- Demonstrate regular and predictable attendance
