Job Summary
The Teacher, Exceptional Student Education (ESE) is responsible for the instruction of all areas of Exceptional Student Education in a classroom setting. Designs and implements appropriately specially designed instruction, accommodations, and supports; develops and implements IEP plans including present levels, goals, and required services; creates a positive educational climate for students with disabilities; uses various teaching techniques to meet IEP goals; observes and evaluates student performance and maintains grades/attendance; manages classroom behavior with evidence-based interventions; communicates with parents and school/district personnel to encourage involvement; ensures health and safety and secures confidential records and FTE documentation; provides oversight to paraprofessionals; attends workshops and trainings to maintain ESE knowledge and skills; maintains required certifications and professional development hours; performs other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications
- Florida Professional Educator Certificate in Exceptional Student Education preferred
- Eligibility for Florida Temporary Certificate required
