Job Summary
Coordinate patient registration across Labor & Delivery, Admitting, and Emergency Departments by collecting demographics, verifying insurance eligibility, and processing copays. Manage admissions board operations, obtain CMS compliance signatures, and educate patients on benefits and financial assistance using standardized scripting. Maintain waiting rooms, inform clinical teams of medical concerns, and assist with transportation and visitor needs while adhering to HIPAA and departmental policies. Adapt to dynamic workflows and meet accuracy targets in a fast-paced environment requiring 35 wpm typing speed.
Required Qualifications
- High School Degree or GED
- Ability to operate multiple computer applications
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- Typing speed of 35 wpm
- Medical terminology
- 1-2 years experience Customer Service
- Ability to adapt to a dynamic work flow
- Appropriate volume registrations per hour
- Meets departmental targets for accuracy
