Job Summary
Register patients in a hospital-based setting by collecting demographics, verifying insurance eligibility, and processing copays and deductibles. Provide customer service to internal and external clients while coordinating care with ancillary departments and maintaining patient safety. Utilize standardized scripting to ensure compliance with legal requirements and educate patients on benefits and out-of-pocket costs. Adapt to dynamic workflows, meet departmental registration targets, and perform critical tasks for protocols such as CARES and Stroke. Maintain waiting rooms, assist with transportation needs, and follow regulatory policies for data collection and point-of-service transactions.
Required Qualifications
- High School Degree or GED
- Ability to operate multiple computer applications
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- Typing speed of 35 wpm
- Medical terminology
- 1-2 years experience Customer Service
- Flexibility to work in 24/7 departments, 1st, 2nd and 3rd shifts
- Ability to work 12- hour shifts
- Ability to work weekends
