Job Summary
Accelerating Campus Excellence (ACE) School Nurse provides direct care using professional nursing assessment, IHPs, and school health protocols; serves as health advocate for students; coordinates medication administration at school; maintains health records and screening programs; develops and coordinates health education and campus health initiatives; collaborates with physicians, parents, and staff; participates in IEP-related health items, crisis teams, and school committees; supervises nurse aides and LVNs; ensures compliance with federal/state rules and district policies; required to hold Texas RN license, vision/hearing screening certification, CPR/AED, and two years of nursing experience (preferred in community health). Position is for the 2026-2027 school year at East Central ISD, with salary based on the 2026-2027 Classroom Teacher Salary Scale plus a $10,000 stipend.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited professional nursing education program
- Valid registered nurse license to practice professional nursing in Texas from the State Board of Nurse Examiners
- Certified by the Texas Department of Health to conduct vision and hearing screening
- CPR Certification and AED certificates
- Two years of nursing experience, preferably in community health
- Knowledge of health appraisal to identify student health defects
- Ability to implement policies and procedures
