Job Summary
Design, plan, and deliver daily goalkeeper-specific training sessions for U12-18 age groups while creating individual development plans and utilizing video analysis to enhance performance. Support goalkeeper recruitment by planning try-outs, clinics, and camps, and provide on-field observations and adjustments during matches and tournaments. Collaborate with strength and conditioning staff to design fitness programs and coordinate with medical personnel on load management and injury prevention. Maintain detailed records of player progress and submit regular reports to the Academy Technical Director. This role requires a UEFA B or equivalent license, 3-5 years of youth goalkeeper experience, and the ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- 3-5 years of youth goalkeeper coaching background/experience
- Strong teaching background
- Drivers license
- Strength in delivering tactically relevant on-field sessions
- Proven experience as a goalkeeper coach at the professional, collegiate, or elite youth level
- Experience in combining practical on-field know how with off-field planning and assessment
- Ability to communicate effectively with players, staff, and other stakeholders
- Passionate about player development with a commitment to NYCFC's values and philosophy
- Collaboration with fellow coaches with a multidisciplinary approach
- A motivated growth mindset and life-long learner
- Strong work ethic
- Competency in using analysis software particularly Hudl/Sportscode
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as necessary
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times
- Applicant must be able to comply with applicable child safety policies provided to applicants by NYCFC
Desired Qualifications
- Dual language English/Spanish is preferred
- Hold a relevant coaching license (e.g., UEFA B License, USSF B License, or equivalent) or a goalkeeper-specific coaching license is highly preferred
