Job Summary
The Ruth Academy is seeking a Dance Chair & Artistic Staff Member to lead and shape the Academy’s dance program and contribute to the theater’s artistic staff. Responsibilities include program leadership and curriculum development across all ages and levels; recruiting, hiring, onboarding, mentoring, and evaluating dance faculty; scheduling and staffing classes; teaching 8–12 hours per week; planning and executing student performances and collaborations with Academy leadership; supporting casting, rehearsals, and production preparation; assisting in day‐to‐day operations, strategic planning, and community outreach; and contributing to artistic operations, production support, and live events. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Dance, Performing Arts, Arts Education, or related field (or equivalent professional experience), significant experience in teaching dance and in producing/choreography/directing, and strong organizational, communication, and leadership abilities, with availability for evening and weekend rehearsals and events. In person, Pleasant Grove, Utah. Preferred qualifications include curriculum development experience, choreography for theatre productions, and experience within a professional theater environment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Dance, Performing Arts, Arts Education, or related field, or equivalent professional experience
- Significant experience teaching dance in a studio, school, conservatory, or professional performing arts organization
- Significant experience in producing, choreography, and/or directing
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
- Ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments and artistic disciplines
- Availability for evening and weekend rehearsals, performances, and events as required
