Job Summary
Assistant Track & Field Coach at Salem College; assists Head Coach with practices, workouts, and training; provides technical instruction and skill development; helps with meet preparation, competition strategy, and athlete performance evaluation; recruits and retains qualified student-athletes aligned with the college’s academic and athletic mission; supports academic success and well-being of student-athletes; helps with travel planning, meet logistics, fundraising, equipment management, and program operations; ensures compliance with NCAA Division III and Salem policies; assists with social media content and program promotion; drives a college-owned 15-passenger van for team transportation; requires HS Diploma (bachelor’s degree preferred); flexible hours including evenings and weekends; focus on fostering a positive team culture and athletic excellence.
Required Qualifications
- HS Diploma required
- Previous playing and/or coaching experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of fundamentals, strategies, and player development
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
