Academy Athletic Performance Coach

Job Summary
Plan and deliver physical development programs across junior and senior Academy squads, development squads, games, and camps. Design individual programs for Academy players, monitor progress against defined physical standards, and deliver training focused on speed, strength, endurance, and running mechanics. Attend all development squad sessions and selected Academy games, while building trusted relationships with players and parents to provide clear feedback on training standards. Coordinate specialist support including dietetic consultations, report on performance outcomes and player progress, and partner with Recruitment staff to identify emerging talent. Work closely with the Academy Physiotherapist and medical team to support return-to-performance programs.
Required Qualifications
- Tertiary qualifications in sport science, exercise science or a related discipline
- ASCA Level 2 Strength and Conditioning accreditation or higher
- Knowledge of rugby league and/or a rugby league background, which is essential for the role
- Experience working within elite team sport performance programs, particularly in long-term athlete development
- Strong and well-rounded athletic performance knowledge across speed, strength and endurance
- A developed understanding of how to analyse, interpret and coach running mechanics
- Demonstrated experience building effective relationships with young athletes, families and people from diverse backgrounds
- The ability to motivate players and support them to achieve individual and team performance goals
- Strong communication, relationship-building and stakeholder management skills
- Strong organisation and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise competing demands and meet deadlines
- A collaborative, hands-on approach and the ability to achieve results through hard work, dedication and a willingness to get on with the job
- Confidence using Microsoft Office and other relevant performance and reporting systems
- Candidates who are available to commence immediately
- A current Drivers License
- A Blue Card
- A WWCC
