Academic Tutor – Reading, Writing, Executive Functioning & Test Preparation

Job Summary

Provide individualized instruction to middle school, high school, and college students in reading comprehension, written expression, executive functioning, and standardized test preparation for the HPST, PSAT, and other entrance exams. Support academic writing including essays and research papers while developing personalized learning plans based on each student's needs. Teach organization, time management, and task initiation skills to students with neurodiverse profiles and learning disabilities. Monitor progress, communicate with parents and supervisors, and record updates in the documentation system. Available for after-school and evening hours Monday through Friday, with Saturday availability as a plus.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Master's degree in Education, English, Reading, Special Education, or a related field
  • Strong background in reading comprehension, writing instruction, and academic support
  • Experience working with neurodivergent students with learning differences
  • Experience tutoring or teaching middle school, high school, and/or college students
  • Excellent writing, communication, executive functioning, and organizational skills
  • Familiarity with standardized test preparation strategies
  • Ability to motivate students and adapt instruction to different learning styles
  • Availability to work after-school and/or evening hours
  • Availability to work Monday - Thursday until 7pm and Friday until 5pm
  • Availability to work Saturday 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM

Desired Qualifications

  • Master's degree preferred in Education, English, Reading, Special Education, or a related field
  • Saturday availability is a plus
