Academic Tutor & Mentor (Entry Level, Paid, Full-time)

Coach and mentor elementary, middle, and high school students to improve academic success, attendance, and positive behaviors through one-on-one and small group interactions. Develop literacy and math skills using varied learning activities, create behavior management systems, and collaborate with teachers to monitor individual progress via City Year's data system. Support whole school initiatives by conducting extended day and virtual programming for academic enrichment, homework assistance, and leadership development, while co-leading events that recognize student growth. Complete two to four weeks of training at the start of the year and work alongside partner teachers and school staff to foster a safe, engaging classroom environment.
