Academic Tutor & Mentor (Entry Level, Paid, Full-time)

Coach and mentor elementary, middle, and high school students to earn academic success, improve attendance, and develop positive behaviors. Plan and monitor individual student progress while collaborating with teachers on whole-class instruction, breakout spaces, and in-class assistance. Develop literacy and math skills through varying activities, answer questions, and encourage assignment completion. Create and implement a behavior management system, fostering interpersonal skills via learning, practicing, reflection, and repetition. Support whole-school initiatives by conducting extended day and virtual programming for academic enrichment, homework support, recreation, and leadership development. Create events recognizing student growth in math, literacy, attendance, and behavior. Receive two-to-four weeks of training and work alongside partner teachers and school staff.
