Job Summary
Manage day-to-day academic technology operations, including overseeing the Canvas learning management system, providing learning design support, and handling LTI integrations with software vendors. Deliver tech support for faculty and students, serve as the VitalSource liaison, and collaborate with the Office of Faculty Development to expand technology use in teaching and learning. Design documentation, tutorials, and workshops to support instructional technologies, while partnering with faculty to lead exploratory initiatives and pilot projects. Conduct an annual software inventory survey, manage license counts and deployment locations, and negotiate vendor contracts to secure optimal pricing. Cancel underutilized subscriptions and provide general technical support within the Office of Academic Affairs.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Educational Technology, Information Technology, Instructional Design, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience working in higher education academic technology, instructional design, or IT procurement
- Deep expertise in administering Learning Management Systems (Canvas)
- Deep expertise in Student Information Systems
- Deep expertise in deploying LTI integrations
- Proven track record in software procurement, contract negotiation, and managing vendor relationships
- Strong ability to secure competitive pricing
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to translate complex technical and pedagogical concepts to non-technical faculty and staff
- Strong organizational skills
- Attention to detail, specifically regarding inventory management, survey data analysis, and budget tracking
