Job Summary
Plan and direct learning activities of adult incarcerated students; follow Windham School District curriculum guides; supervise classroom activities; maintain lesson plans and attendance records; administer diagnostic, achievement, and curriculum tests as required; participate in staff development, faculty meetings, and district/agency evaluations; contribute to curriculum and policy committees; maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information; comply with WSD policies, TEA requirements, and Texas Department of Criminal Justice regulations; collaborate with staff to meet student performance targets and district/campus improvement plans; demonstrate progress toward instructional goals and innovation in instructional approaches; supervise teacher aides as assigned; adapt instruction to individual student needs and manage student behavior to foster a positive learning environment; uphold professional, ethical standards and ensure punctual attendance at the assigned location.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- Must meet State Board for Educator Certification (SBEC) requirements for area of assignment
- Elementary or Secondary level certification in a foundation subject area
- This position requires personal technology that will enable the completion of job duties and responsibilities when working remotely
