Job Summary
Provide quality education to incarcerated adult students and supervise classroom activities in Windham School District. Plan and direct learning activities, follow district curriculum guides, participate in staff development and faculty meetings, and collaborate on committees. Maintain lesson plans and attendance records, administer and interpret diagnostic and other tests as required, manage student behavior, create a positive instructional environment, and ensure compliance with WSD policies and TEA/agency regulations. Requires Bachelor’s degree and SBEC certification; position may involve remote-work capability with personal technology to complete duties. Supervisory responsibilities include overseeing adult incarcerated students and potentially teacher aides. Working conditions cover a range of environments with emphasis on professional conduct, confidentiality, and adherence to district policies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- SBEC certification requirements for area of assignment (Elementary or Secondary level)
- This position requires personal technology to enable working remotely
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain accurate records
- Maintain confidentiality in handling sensitive information
