Job Summary
Plan and direct learning activities for adult incarcerated students, following the Windham School District curriculum guide, while supervising classroom activities. Maintain accurate attendance and student progress records, administer diagnostic and curriculum tests, and adapt instructional methods to meet individual student needs. Ensure confidentiality and professional conduct, contribute to staff development, participate in meetings and committees, and collaborate with colleagues to achieve instructional goals and district improvement targets. Strong instructional planning, assessment, and classroom-management skills, with the ability to convey ideas clearly and maintain an engaging learning environment inside a district that serves incarcerated learners.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- Must meet State Board for Educator Certification (SBEC) requirements for area of assignment
- Elementary or Secondary level certification in a foundation subject area
- This position requires personal technology that will enable the completion of job duties and responsibilities when working remotely
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Skill to interpret and apply rules, regulations, policies and procedures
- Skill in organizing and maintaining accurate records
